AREAS OF
PRACTICE - Mr. Scheffer, with the help of our professional staff, focuses on the
following areas of law:
Wills, Trusts & Estate Planning
In addition to the preparation of
wills, durable powers of attorney, and powers of attorney for health care, we
also focus on setting up more comprehensive trusts and estate plans that provide
you with greater protections and potentially significant income and estate tax
savings.
Elder Law
Our
practice takes on the many specialized issues involved with legal services to
the elderly and people with special needs. We help
seniors and their families with planning needs, including wills, trusts for the
management of property and tax planning, health care directives, guardianships
and Medical Assistance (Medicaid) concerns.
Probate and Trust Termination
We provide all levels of assistance
with the probate of wills and the termination of trusts. We encourage family
members, the personal representative, trustee, or other person you may have
designated, to be actively involved and help keep costs to a minimum, and we
show them how to do that. On the other hand, we are also prepared to handle all
levels of work -- from re-titling and transferring assets
to completing all necessary tax returns.
